Running 160 kilometres from Teruel to Sagunto, the Ojos Negros greenway is the longest in Spain — and it passes practically by Calma Villa's front door: the Algimia de Alfara access is 3 minutes by car or a 20-minute walk.
The old mining railway of Sierra Menera is today a car-free asphalt path whose railway gradients never exceed 2%: perfect terrain for cycling with children. The Palancia section strings together red-rock cuttings, tunnels and viaducts with constant views of the Calderona and Espadán ranges, among orange groves and olive trees.
Ride it à la carte: ~8 km one way to Estivella, or 22–24 km to Segorbe and Navajas — ideal by bike — with the Regajo reservoir glittering below the track and the tunnels between Navajas and Jérica as the grand finale. Bikes and e-bikes can be rented in Navajas (Hardacho, right on the greenway, and Camping Altomira).
Carry a light for the tunnels (some are lit, some are not) and water — there are fountains only in the villages. From October to June any hour works; in summer, ride early.
In Navajas: Hardacho (right by the greenway) and Camping Altomira rent bikes and e-bikes. Ask us and we'll help you arrange it.
Yes: an asphalt, car-free, almost flat path — the safest cycling around.
From Algimia towards Navajas and Jérica: red-rock cuttings, viaducts over the Palancia and tunnels kids adore.
